Kevin Painter is a Liberal Democrat Tetbury Town Councillor.
Kevin tells us,“I am a fifth generation Tetburian, and was fortunate and privileged to grow up in a town that had everything going for it. I am very proud to be the current Deputy Mayor of Tetbury, and also a Foundation Governor for St. Mary’s School. In addition to this I am involved with the Tetbury Tenant’s association and the Tetbury Access Group.
Having spent several years on the Tetbury Council,I believe that one person can make a difference in local politics.
I would like to achieve many things to ensure Tetbury regains what it has already lost such as better medical facilities, better leisure facilities e.g. a swimming pool and better transport facilities e.g. better parking for the town centre – in fact everything a town the size of Tetbury should have but alas has been taken without a fight. Better facilities for children and the youth of Tetbury are of course also required, after all the future is theirs;and of course better facilities for the elderly, after all they have made the town and should not be forgotten. We must not only look at the big picture but make it sustainable.
I want to do this with the Liberal Democrats as I believe that this party is the most proactive, with views that will make real differences for the district. I believe that this party truly represents people’s wants, needs and aspirations in the district, and not just two dimensional in its outlook, towing the party line;which will allow me to lobby and campaign for what Tetbury wants first and foremost.”
