Grumbolds Ash

Felicity Hornby stood as the Liberal Democrat candidate for the Grumbolds Ash Ward for the CDC elections on May 5 2011.

Felicity moved to the Cotswolds 10 years ago, having worked in local government in Oxfordshire after completing an MA in London. She is married, with two children who have both grown up locally and attend school in Cirencester.

She is particularly concerned about the provision of affordable housing in an area where house prices are so high that many local people do not have a chance of living in the area where they grew up and work.

Felicity tells us,“ Having worked within local government for a number of years, she knows how important transparency is. Public services should be run to serve the interests of the community they represent, and not to further individual political gain.”

“What I love about living where we do is the sense of community –people talk to eachother and being involved matters. I have been an active member of my children’s school PTA since 2004,and my family has a local allotment;a fantastic community resource. I believe that a small amount of input from everyone can make all the difference to the sustainment of community.”

The Grumbolds Ash Ward includes the following parishes:

Beverston
Boxwell
Didmarton
Kingscote
Ozleworth
Shipton Moyne
