Town and District councillor I have lived in Chesterton for the last twenty years and my daughter went to college here. I’m a member of Soroptimist International and am actively involved in a number of local organisations and charities, most notably Home Start. In 2003 I was elected to CDC where I have specialised in planning and development control. Deryck Nash Town and District councillor I have lived in the Chesterton ward for over thirty years. I have brought up my children here and some have settled in the town. My wife and I attend a local church, and we are involved in a number of local organisations and charities. I am governor at Chesterton Primary and Deer Park Schools, and have only recently resigned, after more than nineteen years of service, as a Trustee of the Cotswold Council for Voluntary Services. I first became involved in local politics twenty years ago, standing up for local businesses against the Tesco out-of-town store, believing it would have a detrimental impact on the town centre. Since then I have tried to do my best to help with issues and problems for the community and to speak out against those policies of the Conservative administration that I feel are unfair or that I do not agree with. I represent the Chesterton ward on behalf of the Liberal Democrats because I believe in the party’s philosophy and values. I wish to fight the other two parties as they represent many local values that I cannot agree with. To keep updated about what Deryck is doing in the Ward you can follow him on Facebook.
